Super Planetarium Cave Atars

A sky filled with 10 million stars is reproduced by the world-leading Ohira Tech MEGASTAR-II production in a cave. An extraordinary space will appear where you can experience nature, healing and relaxation with your five senses in a unique space interwoven with the natural beauty of Tanegashima and internationally-recognized artificial beauty in the middle of night on one of the few occasions in a year when the new moon and the low tide of the spring tide overlap.
Takayuki Ohira
Representative Director of Ohira Tech. Has been working on own planetarium pieces since elementary school. Succeeded in developing a lens-projection planetarium said to be impossible to produce independently when a junior in college. Presented MEGASTAR, which projects more than 100 times the number of stars than before, in 1998. Installed in the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, MEGASTAR-II cosmos was certified by the Guinness World Records in 2004. In addition to developing and installing projectors, active in a variety of fields including collaborations with those in the fields of music, art and sports. Has won the Science and Technology Award at the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Awards and the IPS Technology & Innovation Award 2018.
